Home and Away: Le Sirenuse’s Antonio & Carla Sersale

We do dream of expanding Le Sirenuse, somewhere beautiful.

Carla and Antonio Sersale

Where to begin with Le Sirenuse and its wonderful owners Antonio and Carla Sersale. The couple are the epitome of charm; the embodiment of their breathtaking hotel in Positano on the Amalfi coast.

The iconic property has been waving the flag for la dolce vita lifestyle since the days when Antonio’s father was at the helm. John Steinbeck famously fell in love with the rooms and documented his stay in the book A Journey to Positano. It still holds a special kind of allure for the creative set; from actors and writers to artists and designers.

Befitting of its heritage, Carla and Antonio’s sons Francesco and Aldo are now immersed in the evolution of Le Sirenuse. You can even take a piece of the brand home with you as Emporio Sirenuse, the concept store which sits opposite the hotel, retails its glassware, fashion and accessories at MATCHESFASHION and Net-A-Porter. Much of the collection is designed by the truly fabulous Carla and her niece Viola Parrocchetti. This family’s talents are limitless.

Talk us through your home...

We consider ‘home’ our Roman apartment, even if we only spend limited time there in the winter months, when our Positano hotel is closed. We collected many loved pieces of furniture and art that we keep there. The best room of the house is the living room which is very large, with a high, coffered ceiling and four tall windows overlooking the roofs of Rome. It has a beautiful large sofa, very deep, almost a small bed, in the sitting area. Lots of carpets on the floor, suzani hangings and art on the walls. It is a warm and cozy room.
