In celebration of makers.

A content strategy and accompanying programme of events and workshops, produced and hosted by Rapport for The Makers, Londonewcastle and the London Borough of Hackney.

“Our mission was to create a hub to champion culture, community and conversation.”

Meet the makers.

In honour of London’s creative and design scene, The Makers development and the Borough of Hackney asked Rapport to host a programme of vibrant events with an accompanying content strategy.

Each event took place in a beautifully designed space on the ground floor of The Makers building in Shoreditch with talks, workshops and tastings on the agenda. From a cocktail masterclass to interior makeover chats, the colourful casa blossomed into a hub of activity.

Tucked away from City Road between the dynamism of the Shoreditch area and the financial district of the City of London, The Makers is rather uniquely positioned. Shoreditch and the wider borough of Hackney is defined by the people who choose to live and work there – the graphic designers, publishers, cake makers, and photographers, the night-runners, the florists and the chefs. So it was the perfect setting for championing the people who bring London to life.

Proceedings for Rapport’s ‘Meet The Makers’ series kicked off with interior design gurus and Changing Rooms stars Russell Whitehead & Jordan Cluroe, aka 2LG Studio, who joined our founder Amira Hashish in conversation.

The home makeover inspiration continued with Lick founder Natasha Bradley. The Colour Psychologist, who set up the super successful home decor brand with her husband Lucas during lockdown, discussed the power of vibrant spaces with Amira.

Homeplace’s Wendy Aldridge and interior designer Emilie Fournet advised on how to make vintage pieces work in your interiors scheme.

Cocktails and fizz.

The Cocktail Society hosted a drinks party masterclass. As well as learning to make signature cocktails, guests participated in a Q&A with TCS’s drinks consultant Charlotte on tips for a winning drinks party.

There was plenty of sparkle to keep that inspiration flowing as bubbles were provided by new fizz on the block, Boco by House Coren.

The sparkling wine is unlike other English tipple of its kind as it is made using the Charmat method, the same way Prosecco is created. Founder of Boco by House Coren William Coren personally served his English sparkling wine to guests and guided them through its making during one of the events.

We make stories.
